Business partner sought for web design business (programmer) -
01-12-2005, 05:05 PM
I am looking for a business partner for what is currently a part-time web design business. So far I have been running this on an occasional/part-time basis, but I want to realize its full potential. I am interested in a web programmer who I can work with, not in people who want to design complete websites.
Key requirements include: - Programming skills - You should have at least a few years' working experience in PHP, Perl, MySQL, E-commerce (ASP/ASP.NET optional but not essential). Any other languages are a bonus, but not essential. I am not a programmer although I can do some basic things (install/customize/etc third-party scripts, some basic hacks, etc), my main area is design so I would provide that. - SEO skills (although this is not crucial in the first stages) - again I know the basics so ideally someone who knows about advanced techniques, PPC campaign management, etc - The ability to work to a high standard - Organizational skills and a proactive, business mind - A mature and professional attitude As regards myself, this has always been an occasional/part-time business (for several years), and I never really did much to promote it as I wanted to keep it that way. Nevertheless I have slowly built up a small portfolio mainly through word of mouth - a number of businesses that are happy with my services and happy to recommend me. Recently I have done a lot of planning and, although I am well aware that the web design business is sort of "saturated" and very competitive, I feel there is a lot of potential for this business, with the right connections. I already have a plan as regards how the business can be marketed. I could launch the business on my own and be one of the many one-man web designers/developers, but I want to take this much further than that. The business will also include web hosting and domain name registration services as well as web design. I have planned a lot of what has to be done (website is 80% complete but not live) and the rest needs to be planned with the partner. I would not be looking to set up a partnership but trading as a limited company, so knowledge of this is required. Ideally you will be based in the Greater London area/Home Counties but this is by no means essential. If you fit the description and are interested in discussing this please contact me directly through email/PM with your age, description of your skills, details of previous work done, etc (please include a few url's of sites where you were involved, describing what your job was on each site). |

I have a new company websourcers.com that does some of the things you have requested. If you focus on the design aspect, you could outsource the programming end of it, or hire a full or part time outsourced programmer for relativley little money. Just a thought..
