Company Name - Junk Business - 20-08-2008, 03:27 PM

Good Afternoon

I am desperatly trying to find a company name for my new business.

The business is very basic. It involves two people driving around in a van/small lorry collecting peoples junk from their homes. Similar to the business Anyjunk.com

We have tried brainstorming ideas but have strugled to find a name and brand which hasnt already been taken.

PLEASE HELP!

Gerwyn

Just done a check and a lot of the likely candidates are taken but dormant. You could pick myoldstuff.co.uk and clearout.co.uk quite cheaply if you contact the owneras.

If not clearoutyourjunk.co.uk is free.

Their great web names but to brand a lorry and flyers we need a cathcy name. Most of our business will be generated offline.

Then just use anyjunk.com. The domain name is for sale.

But if it's a name for the van then how about We Pick Up, and the domain wepickup.co.uk is free.

Because there is a business called anyjunk.co.uk who already operate a large business in London.

That domain is not available.

And my other suggestion?

But anyjunk.COM is free, snap it up and redirect to your website. Maybe they will come asking for the domain name themselves and you can make a tidy sum.

Where is it for sale? I went onto discount domains and its taken and there is a site currently hosting on it? I need fresh original company names!

Hi,

I always find Brainstorming sessions to be the best way of finding a business/brand name.

If you are struggling with what you came up with I recommend checking out a thesaurus for the words you listed in your original brainstorming session.

I find this often gives me other ideas for words I never even thought of - allows you to think out of the box a little.

ie: Junk comes up with: boat, clutter, debris, discard, dope, dreck, dump, flotsam, garbage, jetsam, jettison, litter, refuse, rubbish, salvage, scrap, ship, trash, waste

Phrases that come to my mind are clear out, bin it, get rid, good riddance, discard it, spring clean, throw away - maybe some of these can be adapted.

Don't forget if you are just working locally you can add the area you operate in to your name too.

Good luck!

Kim
