Email solutions - 04-05-2007, 07:41 PM

I've only really used free web based email solutons so far but I'm looking for an email provider whereby each of my staff can log into their own accounts such as steve@mydomain.com sue@mydoamin.com etc etc

What kind of packages should I be looking at?

Ask your server admin to install a web based mail client on your server.
A good one is "Iloha Mail". Simple to use and easy to set up.

We don't have a server as they are all virtual workers.

Any other ways around this? There must be a simple solution.

You can rent a server starting from 5 euros a month ( ie: www.1and1.com ).
Just do it, create all the email accounts on your new server, install Iloha Mail so that your staff can check their emails online.

Your staff members can use aliases if they want to keep their old address too.

Why not use Outlook Express? Its should come with your operating system depending on what you have.

So there isn't just a web based email service whereby I pay for a master account and I can have multiple log ins specific to different email address...sue@mydomain.com, bob@mydomain.com etc?

Never tested it before but you could try this :

Personally, I would be highly reluctant to handle my login/password of my email account to a third party company.

I would go for 1and1.co.uk, they do basic packages which you can link to each individuals outlook express.

If you own your own domain name (the @yourdomain.com bit) then you should be able to get some cheap hosting for email only but if you go down this route then you might as well get some cheap hosting and put a small / simple website up as well...

How many email users would you want?

We're having our website built at present, I'd only be talking about having say 4 users who would each have their own login and seperate email address.

So is this possible via the services mentioned? Is the Outlook 2003 mentioned in 1&1's package an online version? I want to be able to access email from any PC anywhere.
