That is a bold statement indeed; it did not help mine.

I agree with Philip above. We started an Adwords campaign to test the waters in December but so far no meaningful leads generated through it. Mind you, we are only spending £1 per day....he he

I spent around £350 in 2 months and got no useful leads at all. It is too broad for my needs.

The words I have to use are the same ones that every man, woman, child, dog, cat and mouse would search on when buying one bottle of wine from France or a CD from the US. There are quite a lot of queries about importing a 4x4 or set of golf clubs. A high proportion were also requests for information on transactions say from India to Brazil, Kenya to Argentina, etc, where I was not in a position to help. As I have said before on this forum, most of the people I need to reach are not searching for my services using Google or Overture.

The number of queries generated daily was staggering but they were so unqualified that it is not commercially viable for me to use this approach. I was becoming an extension of HMCE's helpline - a better quality extension at that! The business opportunity would be, of course, to have HMCE outsource their helpline to me. Given the initiative to reduce civil service headcount, this could be a win-win both for Government and me.

Phil , you have hit the nail on the head when you talk about the quality of the lead

Do you know what people type into google that get to your site and then contact you for work?

Anyhow, have a look at your logs.

For us "business plan" does not convert well (although it does convert) -- but if you take it down a level and someone searches, say, "cafe business plan" the conversions increase -- really, I suppose, because the searcher has really specified what they want

Now, this is not thousands of searches a day - perhaps 100 -- but if you can convert 5 of those, then you are doing OK !!
