Question
Hi All,

I am currently setting up an online skin care product site. I am doing this whilst working full time. I have to be honest I am starting from the really beginning so would appreciate some help in regards to postage and delivery of products.

Do Royal Mail offer business accounts for deliveries at depots? Or is it cheaper and easier to use one of the other courier companies? Also what is the best way to go about accepting stock deliveries as I am at work all the time! I am close to a Royal Mail sorting office but do not know what services they offer (and the website is not that helpful )

Thanks for any advice.

Adrian

Hi Adrian,
Just read your msg on your new skin care venture, I run a major health & beauty shop on line, have for some years now, and I find mostly the post kills it, if we include the high postage rates within item cost it looks very expensive, if we put postage costs on once the person gets to the check-out it puts them off buying, it is a nightmare is the postage.
Hope you get on ok, maybe you could drop me a line in which way you do go with that.
bye

Hello..

Royal Mail is fantastic for delivery and offer the most competitve rates for 1st class postings. You can get a credit account with Royal Mail depending on the number of items that you send. If the packets are few, the best option would be the smartstamp option where by you can print the stamp from your own computer. You can then go and drop it off at the depot. Royal Mail also offers daily collection at a charge of £450 per year. If you send more than £15k in a year, then this collection is free.

Hope this helps.
