import documentation, C88, fee please help.

Hello everyone,

I am new importer, not yet import but intend...after I went through a lot of information but I still in doubt or maybe don't clearly understand so I do have so many questions (maybe first of many) to be advised as follow;

- Does anyone know, the C88 (SAD)has any charge or fee? or just only completed it and declare with Customs without any charge when come to collect the consignment at the airport...??

- Do you have any idea about other documentations which necessary for declaration of importing goods??

- Do you know all charge&fee (except duty&VAT) that I have to pay for declaration to Customs? ( Do we pay duty&VAT for customs? or for whom? I am so CONFUSED right now)

Please help me, my head is a big mess now.

You simply need to appoint a shipping (clearance) agent to handle the paperwork for you. Many of the airlines themselves will undertake this too. It is not recommended that you try to go through the clearance process yourself. What you should be concerned with is that copies of the bill of lading (or airway bill in the case of air freight) is sent to you or your agent by your supplier ahead of the arrival of the goods in the UK.
