Setting up as a consultant - 20-05-2008, 05:01 PM

I'm an experienced technology consultant and I'm looking to set up on my own, potentially employing a few support staff. An area that I'm really not experienced in is the contractual side. Is there a good resource of standard contractual documents, Ts & Cs, and NDAs, etc. available on the Internet?

I still feel that there must be a repository of these types of legal proforma documents, on the web somewhere. I've seen a few but I don't know which to trust. Any help would be much appreciated.

This is a really useful set of links. A number of them cost but the amounts seem pretty low, especially compared to normal lawyer fees.

This is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. Thanks for remembering me.

Business Link have a number of basic, complete online, forms that could be useful.

I am trying to find the resource I used with one of my clients recently. I will continue to search and post if I find it. However I did find this one in the meantime - Documents4u It's priced in dollars so you might have to be careful of the legal status if used in the UK.

Just a thought - if you are already a consultant - presumably employed at present - could you not get a set of the documents your current co uses and adapt them to your needs?
You might also take a look at Businessballs.com its another useful site for resources.

Don't forget all the insurances you will need - presumably including Prof indemnity.
