You don't have to pay someone to get a good deal on a domain name. Just search for the one you want and if it's free then register it. All you need to pay is the registration fee.

If you are going to go down the road of getting a website designer in, make sure you get at least five quotes. If a web designer comes to you and says they can do this and they can do that, then first of all look at their previous work, look at their clients website and speak to them. There are some web designers out there, not many but I have seen one or two over the past couple of days who feel they are an expert and put down other peoples sites claiming they are an expert and do wonderful sites, but when you look at their work, you would get better results with a school child building your site.

Make sure that they are not just people who have built a couple of basic sites and now feel they are a professional and want to do it for a living. There are those that can and there are those that build rubbish sites and promote themselves as web designers.

Speak to people on here, find out who built their websites and see if they are happy with it and what customer service they received.

If you want to go for the cheap option which you would get better results than these so called website designers who build bad sites, you could buy kits, we are currently looking at one at the moment that a PR company has asked for us to try out, I will let you know when I try it out and tell you how good or bad it was.

You will find some really good web designers on these forums so speak to them, find out more about them and if you go ahead, agree a budget first. But please do have a look at their work and have a look at other websites as well.

The only way to buy yourself onto the 1st page is by using pay per click - which can be pretty expensive but then worthwhile if it brings you tons of business.

Any SEO who guaranteesthey can get you to the 1st page with organic searches should be treated with extreme caution.
