I have just started selling on-line and as part of that I am "hopefully" increasing traffic to the site. We want to be able to track that traffic so we can see what advertising appears to be effective and how many repeat visits we are getting.

I'm at a loss as to how to go about it. I designed our website and it is hosted by a friend who can't offer me the assistance I require.

I am happy to move the hosting if I can find a good reliable service that includes the statistics but where on earth do I find one and I don't want to lose the freedom I have to change the website as and when I want. As with most internet stuff there appear to be thousands of companies offering the service but I think I need recomendations so I don't end up with another duff hoster.

thanks
Naomi

Hi there,

I use www.Hiperstat.com
They give you free stats and quite good detail. There is no need to change your hosting or anything else about your website. You can even make the logo transparent so that it is not displayed on your site.

Let me know how you get on.

Clare.

If you are serious about changing hosting then drop me a PM we offer different packages on different servers with different stats software, Urchin stats are good and I can send you some screenshots if you wish?

EDIT: Just realised that my post looks like total SPAM It's not a sales pitch but I'm just offering to help you improve your online business - because that is what my company does! If you don't want to change hosts then I will always answer any questions and offer advice

I see you are running apache so you may have something called cpanel

If you have then you'll have all the stats you need

otherwise a free service such as statcounter.com will do everything for you (I use it on parts of this site I want to monitor by the hour)
