Graduation Gowns?

I've been a TA for 5 schools in the Westchester Area (30 miles north from NYC). Each year some way or the other I'm stuck dealing with the graduation gown ordering. Each of the schools use a rep that comes in an measures all of the students. I've had many problems with this as for some odd reason when it comes graduation time we are left with a few students that don't have a graduation gown.

Has anyone thought of ordering directly from a company and placing the order yourself?

I was involved in this last year and the year before.

As students can be quite lazy they need to be directed "exactly" how to do it.
We gave a leaflet explaining how to do it online or over the phone and added deadlines.

Seemed to work pretty well but there will always be a few turning up without.
