Hello,

My name is Sally and I am the owner of Growing Ambitions, a not-for-profit organisation. I would like to introduce our organisations concept and ask you opinions. Our "matchmaking" service links enthusiastic Speakers from the workplace with careers education teachers and advisers.


People in jobs they love, volunteer through us to go and talk to young people in their own local areas, on dates that suit them. We put real people, doing real jobs, in front of young people to tell them what their careers are really like and give them great ideas for their future.

We have had feedback from teachers from all subject areas saying that this is really something that is missing as it is hard to get people away from their busy daily lives, and our service enables the students and the speakers to come together easily.

Is is popular? Well yes now that we've developed a white label version of the volunteering popular that large companies can put on their own websites. We are keen to tell the whole Uk about growingambitions.org - I really believe in the potential of young people and they need to know what jobs are out there. If everyone in an interesting job would volunteer half an hour it would be great!
