Re: new rules -

Rules should be implemented into the forum web app code to prevent users from breaking them. Most users are members of dozens of boards and rarely read the rules - this is a fact, even if it's their obligation to read the rules. I had 3 posts deleted from the "Offers" forum because I had to make at least 10 posts - they were deleted without any notification, even though your Posting Rules says "You may post new threads" at the bottom of the page - which rule is it to be? If your software not only allows me to post in your forum, but actively states I am allowed to, then why should my posts be deleted? You should also auto-notify users by e-mail whenever a post is removed.
Oh, and when you remove a post from Introductions because you state it's an advert, be consistant and remove the other posts that are clearly advertisements there!! ![]() |

I must hold my hand up and admit deleting your post in the introductions forum...
I understand your frustration at having a post removed and i'm sorry you think that there are double standards - trust me there are not! If you see a post that you believe is blatent spamming then please notify the mod's - we do our best to remove advertising but sometimes things get missed. The reason why your post in the introductions section was removed was because it WAS a blatent advertisement - including price, if it was a special offer then there is an offers section for it. People need to understand that this site is flooded by spam - most of it you don't see, so if you post and advertisement in the wrong forum then you are likely to have it removed. Tony Feel free to contact me with any website issues. |

Thanks for the reply Tony. Now I understand why the post was removed.
Regarding the offers forum, I had two posts removed from there but for another reason : I had to make 10 posts prior to giving an offer there. However, your website is saying I may post in this forum (under the Posting Rules on the bottom left of the page) - you just have to look at it from a person's point of view who has practically all of his posts removed from your site without any idea why (I got no e-mail/PM til my 3rd post was removed, and it was pretty blunt). I'm guessing most of your readership are also members of many other messageboards and don't take the time to read every rule on every messageboard, so you will get people like me who wonder why their posts are being removed. Anyway, thanks for your explanation - that's fair enough, I understand the way you work, and I cannot stand spam either (who does?!). |

There shouldn't be a problem with a link to a non sales site
