Sid,
Sorry for the delay - I've been away for a few days.
Here is some navigation advice: http://www.jessett.com/web_sites/usability/navigation.shtml
This is Jacob Nielsons advice; http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20001112.html
And more from Jeffery Zeldman: http://www.zeldman.com/daily/0604f.shtml
If you want to build a usable website then these two gents are a valuable source of information.
But if you really want to still use dropdowns (ugh) then the son of suckerfish article is the one you need: http://www.htmldog.com/articles/suckerfish/dropdowns/
Building a usable and effective website is a skill that takes time to develop. So many great ideas have fallen by the wayside because the creator just simply failed to follow the rules. It's taken me many years to learn all the tricks - it doesn't happen overnight, so expect to spend months just getting to grips with the basics. If we can help, all you have to do is ask.
