Linking by Word

Hi there, new to the forum but saw an interesting site on killerstartups: submiturlsite.com . Basically you can link to your site from a word of your choice, sounds novel but is quite interesting in terms of seo as you can specify the anchor text/word that links specifically through. I have a retail site which has been slowly climbing for approx 2 years so Im trying everything I can! Also anyone know if ii should be linking to the homepage or 'deeplink'?

Sigh, yet another copycat site.

Remember the million pixel site. Withing weeks, there were thousands of copycat sites none of which ever acheived anything. It's the same with this, A quick search and I've found hundreds of affilliate type sites, all with the same format.

A waste of time and money. I reckon 99% will wither and die withing 6 months. A few will hang on but never make any real money.

Thanks for the reply fisicx, I reckon your right on there being a few of these type sites. Anyone know re the link - homepage or deeplink?
The only reason I can see these type of sites lasting for a while is that they are in effect a directory I suppose, and evidently there are lots of those!
Also anyone had any luck with social networking sites e.g. digg etc?
