What is the aim of the site? What do you hope to acheive?

The reason for asking is because the site has so many different features it is difficult to work out exactly what it is you are offering.

There is very little actual content on the site, many of the page have no information or are 'coming soon'. The amount of actual education material is almost zero so what incentive is there for anyone to visit the site?

You certainly aren't going to rank well in the SERPs until you write some indexable material and running a PPC campaign isn't going to work because there is nothing for your visitors to do.

In conclusion, even if you were to increase your visitor numbers it won't count for much until you get some content on the site.

There are lot of ways on how you can increase traffic on your site.
You can do the on and off page optimization. Link building is one of
the key to gain traffic. Promotions, creating a blog, participating in
different forums and many more.

Sigh...

But increasing your visitor numbers won't achieve anything until you have some content on the site. Suppose you get 100 visitor a day but every single one leaves a few seconds after landing on the homepage. Supposing every visitor is unique (ie no returning visitors). But supposjng you get 10 visitors a day and each one carries out 10-20 actions. And supposing 8 of these daily visitors are not unique.

Visitor number are NOT a good measure of the success of a site. The length and depth of the visit, the number of retuirning visitors and referral are much better parameters of success.

As to the suggestions given by Cryxellis, blogging is only any good if people visit the blog and forum participation is limited by the frequency and qualitiy of your posts. Neither are good link building tools BTW.

Thanks for that info fisicx, I agree with what you have said about the
goodness and limitations of blogging. As you have said blogging is
only good if people visit it and that is right. What I'm saying is
you will work on it to make people visit your blog, fresh and
unique content is what google like and at the same time people
will keep on coming back to read your blog. Then the traffic will
increase through your reader's referral.

But why not spend all that time working on improving the main site content instead of writing blog posts. Suresh wants more traffic but as I've pointed out traffic is worthless unless the site meets your visitors needs. And without content those needs are not going to be met.

I make a comment on how Suresh can gain traffic
and that was my suggestion. It is up to him whether
he will follow it or not. I think making an article will not
occupy much of your time. As I have said blogging is other source of traffic.
I did not say it was the whole.

Sure it is if you will not create one.

And I agree with you 100%. blogging, forum posting, socuial networking, advertising and so on will all help to increase traffic to the site but (and this is critical) unless the site has useful and informative content there is no point in increasing visitor numbers.

It follows therefore that it would be remiss of us to focus on the Suresh's request withoput pointing out the fallacies of concentrating on visitor numbers rather than visitor interactions.

Really? I takes me 2-4 hours to write a single article and research alone can take double that. I know of one website where the owner only produces one article a month - but the amount of detail in incredible. Other blogs seem to think that two paragraphs and a link drop is sufficient. Each have their niche but the key to all of them is to make the article or post interesting and informative and add value to the reader. My suggestion therefore was to spend time building up the site rather than concentrating on a blog which may or may not attract visitors. Not saying a blogs are bad, just that it's not the right way to go in this instance.

Did you not understand what I have said? I said it was
for him to decide if he will follow my suggestions or not.

I just like to ask.. why are you making things complicated? I
have said my suggestions and you too. And how many hours
are you working on your site? Does 2 to 4 hours occupy much of
your time to create an article for your blog? And as I have
noticed you were so much against blogging but yet, you said
it takes 2 to 4 hours before you create one? How was that?
