Optimising the page to capture likely search words or phrases is important and the problem that I have is that until two minutes ago I had never heard of the product and don't know anything about it or it's uses.

What do you think are the single or multiple word terms that people will use that you hope will find them their way to your site. Is it just a single word or do you think people will use phrases as this should all be factored into your index page.

The page title is very important as Google places great store by it. Your title is "Makiwara Posts - Home". Google doesn't allocate much space on it's search pages for the title so you need to make good use of it with important search terms coming first. The title can be longer and I would suggest dropping the word "home" and using another important keyword instead

Good, clean looking website....

Noticed you were using the "revisit-after" tag - this is mostly ignored by search engines these days, but it won't actually do any harm being there.

You also use the "author" tag twice, I'm not sure if this will do any harm or not... probably not, but you could do with removing it to clean up your code a bit

I would also recommend using a form instead of publishing your actual email address on the website, it invites spam

other than that.... Looks good!

Hi Tony,

I think that if you follow all the basic SEO guidelines that can be found here and elsewhere that you should easily be able to reach the 1st page on google because of the market place you are in. I for one would be interested in hearing of your progress from time to time , especially if you can pin point the changes that made things happen and how quickly they had an effect.

Good Luck with your optimisation.

Google is more interesting as your site is third and fourth with the first two positions occupied by your posts in this forum

Hello,
Please excuse my ignorance but how can teneric rate higher on a makiwara search on google than my site , so that it comes up at no 1 and I get 2 & 3.
Surley this must be an error on googles behalf.
Regards Jon
