Lightbulb Please review www.PhotoCanvas3D.com - 10-04-2008, 06:01 PM

Hello everyone

this is our new website. There are many websites selling photos on canvas, we wanted to make the experience a bit different.

The website is in beta testing, still some additional pages to be added.

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve, welcome to the forums.

A quick search returns over 71 thousand results for companies offering canvas printing in the UK. This means that the competition for a page one listing is pretty fierce.

Your homepage is very busy, there are at least 5 information chunks, none of which catch the eye. You say you offer a different experience but it looks just like many other canvas printing websites. And when I do click on the links I'm taken to a completely different website. Visitors don't like this, they almost feel cheated - as if you have tricked them into going somewhere else.

Anyway, I uploaded an image to test the system and landed on the zoomy rotating thingy. Not quite sure how this helps, it looks nice but since the image was very low quality it didn't represent the finished product very well. In addition, when I zoomed in the image disappeared off the screen. Another image sort of got shifted off to the left and got tangled up in the buttons. Not a good experience (but I don't really like this sort of interactive widget anyway). I went to checkout and filled in some garbage information - there was no validation and I then landed on the nochex page. Again, you need to tell the customer what is happening.

It doesn't matter how good you are a printing if the website fails to impress. Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings but the site didn't do it for me.

Effective Web Design - It's not that difficult if you follow the rules.

Looks good, while the header and footer is a little small compare with the other part of the site. The text is crowded.
