2 small observations.

1. I'd suggest changing the emphasis of the 'rotating graphics', to focus more on recruitment services. To me, it feels too much like a "this isn't just food .... it's Marks and Spencer food" advert.

2. You could also consider reducing the number of words on the home page, it's a long read (or at least, it felt that way to me). Perhaps, because the text is quite small?

Other than those minor points, everything more or less OK ...

Thanks for the comments, we place Chefs so these pictures are relevant - pictures of staff and also some work they produced

There were a good number of suggestion made over on UKBF that you don't seem to have adopted (or not). My main concern is the lack of focus on the home page. It doesn't tell the visitor what you can do for them and there is no call to action.

I also note that the only way to apply for a job is online and I must have a word CV. What do I do if my cv is a PDF or I want to apply by post or even call you on the phone? I did apply (using a wmv file) and was told you would be in touch. How? You can only do this if I put my contact details on my CV.

I took your comments on board but they were only suggestions.....the home page suggests what we are about and how to contact us. The menu bar is straight forward.

We prefer a word document as we amend CVs once they come in, if you go to the contact us page you can see alternative contact methods including fax, address and an email address.
If someone is serious enough about applying for jobs, it is common sense to include contact details on their CV.

Hope this answers your thoughts

Your home displays the message you want to promote. What it doesn't do is meet the needs of your visitor. You have 2 seconds to attract their attention, every second after that is a reduction in thier interest. It follows therefore that you need to promote what you can do for the visitor on the homepage:
'The premier recruiting agency for the catering trades'. Undeneath that you need two big buttons, apply for a job and place an advert. Beneath this put your contact details and a bit of blurb. That's all you need.

As to the apply online bit. I would expect to be able to fill in an online form giving my personal details and also attach a CV. You not that I can go to your contact page but that's making me think. You need to make the application process much clearer.

Another point about the vacancies, you don't give many details about the company - telling me the restaurant is in Manchester isn't really enough. Would you reply to an advert that said 'a car manufacturer in England' - at the very least you would want to know the name of the company.

First of all there is a register with us button on the home page to your right.
If someone wants to register online they would also go to this page to fill in the details.
I don't think you can get any clearer than that!!

As for the vacancies, we wouldn't give any more information about the employer until we receive the candidate's details, this is common practice of a recruitment agency.
Otherwise our competitors or candidates can contact clients directly.

I appreciate your reviews but your comments would not benefit our company / website in my opinion.
Thanks for taking the time though.

Other sites offering the same service give details of the employer: http://www.chefjobs.co.uk for example.

You know where the 'register' button is but I didn't see it. You need to treat your visitor like children, lead them by the hand. When I read the vacancy details and scroll down the 'register' button ends up above the fold and all I see is the apply now button. Why not add the register button down the bottom along with your contact details. The more usable the site the more people will want to stay.

For your information Chefjobs.co.uk is not a recruitment agency, this is a jobs board for employers..
