Review Business Directory site and Magazine Please

I run a Business Directory and Magazine site where we offer all business people free advertising. We are currently expanding the site and I would like to know what you think of the site

It looks really low budget. The images are badly optimised and in some cases unreadable.

Navigation is poor and the content doesn't match the tagline (health and beauty).

You state that it is free to advertise but the sites gives no indication as to do this.

Sorry to be so harsh but there is nothing unigue about the site and I can't see anything local in the regional links pages. Did you get permission to copy the Charlotte Church interview from the C4 website?

It is this lack of unique content that will prevent the site from doing well in the organic rankings and without this exposure you will not get much traffic.

by trade I am a writer who writes for newspapers and magazines, so your question relating to charlotte church, the interview is not from their website but is from our working relationship with channel 4 who supply us with interviews as well as asking myself and other media people to go and interview people that they represent.

We have changed some of the pictures but I do not agree with your other comments

I thank you for your comments. I have had a look at the websites that you design and it does puzzle me, that you make comment like that on our website when all the websites that are shown on your site are very basic which can be designed by free templates or websites out of a box. I was hoping to see outstanding work, so I could have come to you for more feedback but after seeing the basic websites that you develop I will pass, but again thank you for your comments

I also took a look and noticed that many of the pictures were distorted - fat people look long and thin and some of the humans look like aliens - all squashed up.

I think your attack on fisicx was uncalled for and suggest you appologize in this forum.

When you ask for a review and then attack the reviewer because he pointed out problems it makes you come across as stubborn and aggressive (which you are probably not - but we have no other way of knowing that because we only know you through what you write).

The sites I design are 'basic' but that doesn't make them poor. It is an oft misunderstood belief that a site has to use stunning visuals in order to succeed. The opposite is in fact more often the case: the simpler the design the more successful the site.

The sites I build may look like 'templates' but they aren't. They are all very succesful in their particular niche which is all the owners asked for. Remember, google can't 'see' images, ignores duplicate content and prefers text above all else. Furthermore all the sites I've build work with mobiles devices.

My comment on your site were directed at the misdierection. It isn't a health and beauty site, it appears more to be about celeb news. And I couldn't actually find a way to register a site with the directory.
