There is nothing more pleasing than getting some positive feedback on a new venture. But as with all start-ups, a website needs to get all the boxes ticked if it is to succeed.

Here is a checklist of things to think about before you launch your wunderkind:

1. Make sure the site contains unique, interesting and informative content.
2. Make sure you spell and grammar check everything.
3. Check for orphan pages and broken links.
4. Ensure that every page has a unique title and meta description.
5. Make sure that every page has a <h1> and opening paragraph that builds on the title.
6. Make sure each page has a call to action. Use a tagline to build you USP.
7. Ensure each page has your contact details.
8. Write descriptive anchor text and URLs.
9. Optimize your images.
10. Check the site in all major browsers and platforms.

Get all the above sorted and then submit your site for a review.

ALSO YOU NEED TO SPECIFY to THE PEOPLE WHO REVIEW.

How you intend to get traffic:
Online marketing
PPC
SEARCH
SOCIAL NET/BLOG
ARTICLES
VIRAL
(it will affect the web design you need)

Second please think website conversion strategy
MOST WEBSITES BREAK MOST OF THE RULES OF WHAT WORKS

You must tell your customer why they should read on.
Normally a benefit based headline
Unless your name is rolex they dont care about your name, they do care about what IS IN IT FOR THEM

DO NOT USE FLASH ANIMATIONS

You must define your key benefits.
You must make an offer and a call to action - make sure every page has a purpose.

There are very few businesses that should not make their priority signing up and not sales, and to do that you must give your customer something valuable!

Dont use pictures unless they are relevant, and faces should be looking towards the message you want them to read - all pictures must have a caption.

Any website that uses the word we more than once, and does not use the word YOU is dead in the water - discover copywriting

IN SUMMARY

You can have a 300%-1000% payrise, the day you pay attention to website conversion.

Ask your webdesigner whether they can put split testing and tracking software in for you. If they say "what is that" RUN A MILE!!

Wink
oh - yes upsells are amazing - so many people disregard this when in truth we all go for upsells in our daily lives - buy a sofa - would you like scotch guard sir; buy a car - you should go for the super polish; go for dinner- what wine would you like sir. These are basic upsells that so many of us fall for but fail to actually priorities in our business and they are magical when done correctly.

I run a painting company and I was wondering what I can offer and make it urgent to grab the attention of my custumer quickly get them engaged and fill out the contact form.

The problem I have is if I offer 20% off or $500 off I don't have my prices on my site as each job is different.

I offer free 3D house rendering with any interior painting but it's time consuming for me and people don't usally ask for it.

I also offer free estimates but everyone does.

So please help.

My conversion rate is crappy to say the least 330 vistors per mouth maybe 5 to 15 conversions.

Everyone that sees my site can't stop talking about how great it is without me saying a thing.

Here's the site schmidtpainting.net
